What do I mean by choosing the mama bear moniker? It’s a pretty big image to fill – and a lot of responsibility to take on the domain name and deliver for all of Canada’s mama bears.

Frankly, it’s just a visual that I use a lot when I’m motivating myself to get things done for the sake of my family and other families. She’s fierce, she can be ruthless, she has a short fuse when it comes to her cubs. But she’s also an experienced hibernator, loves a good meal and practices the kind of mammalian mothering I keep trying for.

Plus, did you know a group of bears can be called either a sloth or a sleuth? They both fit our household in their own way.
